More from Sunset Lake

At Sunset Lake, near Portland, TX, I found a few beauties, as always. The white peacock butterfly was new for me in this area.DSC04801.jpgDSC04803

The hairstreak, Strymon alea, had to share the black-eyed susan with a honeybee. Curiously, but not surprisingly, the bee came and went within a half minute or so. The butterfly stayed on the flower for at least twenty minutes, and probably a lot longer.DSC04787.jpg

This looks like an Arctiid moth, maybe Horama.DSC04790.jpg

The Louisiana heron didn’t know he was in Texas.DSC04794.jpg
